Winter Hiatus
     - Monday, January 03, 2005Sorry for the long delay in posts recently. I've been busy.
I spent every free minute of October working on the Kerry Edwards Campaign. So sad. It's the campaign that keeps on giving, right up to a $400 cell phone bill.
November wasn't as busy. All I did was (take a deep breath now): quit a job I enjoyed and felt successful at, packed everything I own, said goodbye to good and true friends masquerading as co-workers, handed my belongs off to unscrupulous movers, drove a thousand miles in the rain (for 22 hours in 2 days) to Atlanta, lived for two weeks without any furniture, drove another four hours in the rain (yes, rain again) to Augusta to pick up my mom so she could visit overnight in my new unfurnished home, and started a new job at a company that was preparing to move their entire operation into a new building just one week into my tenure there.
December was so much more peaceful. More packing and moving at work, and lots of unpacking at home. (Did I mention we deal mainly with boxes of paper at work? Oh, how I love boxes. At home and at work. Oh joy!)
Finally just getting setting in, and wham! In come the holidays to provide a much-needed dose of pressure. Yeah, that's what's been missing. Oh, and don't forget what appears to be the most disastrous event to ever befall mankind during modern times. Happy Holidays!
But the good news is, it's finally January. I live in Atlanta now. Today's high temperature was 68 degrees. Work is getting organized. Aid is finally reaching Asia. My new high speed cable internet connection rocks. And my winter hiatus is almost over.
It was a shortened winter, similar to the little naps you take on a red eye flight to Europe to fool you into thinking you actually got a good 8 hours, when really you only slept for 25 minutes, drooling the whole time.
So plan on seeing more posts in the coming months. Upcoming projects include a fresh new look (and maybe a new name) for Complex Distress, more discussions about domain name services, more Gmail invites to distribute, absolutly some game reviews, and even some stuff about Linux.
