Abyss Web Server

     - Saturday, June 05, 2004

Now that I have my own domain name, it's time to try running my own web site. For that I needed web server software. With free and easy in mind, I started my search eventually to come across the Abyss Web Server. You turn it on, it serves web pages. Everything I've ever wanted and nothing more. Did a little more research, and decided it was a go. So far, it's been running like a champ for about a week now.

UPDATE: After a year of running Abyss I've decided to move to Apache. Abyss has been great, and I'd still recommend it for the 1st time webmaster, but I've outgrown it. You can get all the details at the post titled Brought To You By Apache, Literally.

I'm glad the technical details are not overlooked here.
