Happy New Year -- Calculate Your Net Worth
- Thursday, January 01, 2004For 4 years now, my resolution has been to increase my net worth. Well, actually, the first year it was to find out what my net worth was.
The second year was to get it in the positive. The idea is pretty simple. First you total up everything you have including cash and property. Next you total up everything you owe like student loans and credit cards. Finally, subtract what you owe from what you have and that's your net worth.
To make it a little easier I use a net worth calculator at Yahoo Finance. You'll need to have a Yahoo ID and sign in. There's also a good calculator at CNN Money.
Who knows, maybe someday you'll have a net worth like Bill Gates. I can't even imagine how much money that is!
