Here's my list of the Top 5 things you can do to keep your computer safe on the internet:

  1. Windows Update - Get critical updates and service packs from Microsoft

  2. Get a router - Helps hide your computer from the internet

  3. Use a firewall - Keeps your computer from being used to attack other computers

  4. Run Anti-virus software - You never know what you might click or download by mistake

  5. Run Spyware detection software - Many programs come bundled with tracking software
