RAM Memory Upgrade

     - Wednesday, September 03, 2003

I recently added additional ram memory to my 2 year old computer. The machine came standard with 128 MB which at the time was more than enough. But these days i'm running a personal firewall, anti-virus software, file sharing, etc. (see list of downloads in earlier post). With all those programs running all the time, my poor little machine's feeling a little overworked. I added 256 MB that I bought on Ebay for $52, and it's made an amazing difference. Frankly, I'm not sure why I waited so long to do it.

Make sure you check your computer manufacturer's website so you know exactly what kind of ram you need. Websites like Crucial can also help you identify what you need.

Here's a great article from Tech TV that describes everything you need to know about adding new ram to your computer.
